ABOUT LUNDS BASKET
In Lunds Basket, the goal is to have a good time and tired legs by the end of the practice. No yelling. No drama.
Our club is easy and inclusive. We warm up, we play. We take great pride in our friendly atmosphere & teamwork and we strive to enable each other rather than solo plays. Everyone gets to touch the ball.
We offer three practices a week and a exhibition games every now and then. You decide how active you want to be.
Lunds basket was founded 2006 for those who love to play basketball but didn't want to go elite or quit. Over the years we've also become a popular place for international players while in Sweden.
When we are not playing we will like to arrange off-court activities for those of us who are interested.

Age
Most players are around 20 - 35 years old but if there is a sport where age doesn’t matter, basketball is that sport.
Gender
We both practice and play games as one mix-gender team. As long as you pass the ball & have fun - you can play!
Nationality
We communicate mostly in English as we are a good mix of Swedish & international players.
Team play
We play as a team, and expect the same from you. A few years of basketball experience (or more) is recommended to keep up. We play to enable each other, not hogging the ball to dribble or shoot as individuals.
Smile
A positive attitude is really the most important thing in Lunds Basket. Missing a shot or being out of shape is not an issue as long as everyone is given a chance to make a play. Lunds Basket is drama-free and inclusive.

CORE VALUES
The friendly and positive atmosphere is a big part of what makes Lunds Basket great. For this reason, we want to expand on what we expect of you when playing with us.
We don't discriminate
We include and pass the ball to everyone. Lunds Basket is a place of mixed genders, cultures and religions and skill level. We play as one team.
We play to have fun first and win second
In competitive sports, it’s easy to let the fighting spirit get the better of you. Taunting, unnecessary rough plays, blaming, excluding or heated arguments are NOT OK in Lunds Basket.
A teammate made a poor play? Give them encouragement instead of blame. We are all here to exercise and have fun. Keep it cool.
We play by the rules, but it’s not the law
Respect called fouls. You might disagree with it, but this cannot turn into a heated argument or grumpy faces. Be humble and give the benefit of the doubt when possible.
Be less strict with new players as they tend to make more technical errors. Instead, explain to them and give them guidance in between game when things are calm.
Be careful
Always consider the risk of injury when making a play. This is often an issue when trying to stop a layup at every cost and can easily get dangerous. Be smart about it. We are playing for the fun of it, not to win the league championship.
